Simon the Sorcerer and Spiritual Weed Part 3

Simon the Sorcerer and Spiritual Weed Part 3

And to him they had regard, because that of long time he had bewitched them with sorceries. Acts 8:11

We begin this week’s blog entry from where we ended in our last time together. As you recall, I wanted to assist you in your scrutinization of what I denote as the Seductive Spiritual Simons that seek to seduce and deceive us.

Seductive Spiritual Simons shine in seducing the Lord’s followers to a faith framework, which is characteristically connected to deceptive influences physically, emotionally, and spiritually. And consequently, carry Christians away from a genuine and God-centered relationship with our Lord and God Jesus Christ. The following is a continuation of actions by which Seductive Spiritual Simons seek to alienate our allegiance and commitment to Christ our King.

  • Justifying and adopting the acceptance of sin in the name of love, tolerance, or personal autonomy. Remember Paul proclaimed in the Word of God?
Romans 6:1-2: What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?

  • Emotional Manipulation. Seductive Spiritual Simons encourage the leadership of feelings rather than faith and truth. They want you to walk in the flesh and not the Word of God. They advance the pursuit of spiritual highs or experiences instead of the solidification of the Scriptures and a faithful walk with the Father.

  • Charismatic Spiritual Shams. A soul is smitten by a Seducing Simon when there is an overemphasis on signs, wonders, spiritual gifts, and prophecy without a biblical foundation of faith. They prioritize pursuing personalities as opposed to chasing and championing Christ.

  • Legalism and Religious Pride. Seductive Spiritual Simons jettison the truth of Ephesians 2:8-9: For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: not of works, lest any man should boast. Seductive Simon moves their seduced base to believe that salvation or merit with God is earned through works.

  • Judging others severely while ignoring and staying in personal sin. Seductive Spiritual Simons love hosting souls in their House of Hypocrisy. They should take heed and follow the instruction of the idiomatic expression: Sweep around your own front door before you try to sweep around mine.

  • Isolation from the Family of Faith. Seductive Spiritual Simons employ a deceptive ruse of religious autonomy or personal spirituality, circumventing the church community’s capacity to hold one accountable as well as deeper discipleship. They encourage the error of deeming one doesn’t need others to mature in faith.

In closing, I pray that you exercise yourself in spiritual discernment and prioritize deception prevention from the manipulation of the Seductive Spiritual Simons in this life.

WE MIGHT HAVE BEEN BORN AT NIGHT BUT NOT LAST NIGHT SO STAY IN THE LIGHT.
