Gathering Gratefulness

To say that the 2020 has been extraordinarily epic is an unprecedented understatement. The events that have enormously exploded and engulfed everyone of us spiritually, mentally, politically, legally, socially, physically, financially, educationally, and institutionally have influenced me to identify the letter “U” in the United States of America as UNBELIEVABLE! We have had UBIQUITOUS conflict, chaos, confusion and displays of cataclysmic insurrection such as burning, looting, and destruction of property. To complicate things even more, citizens of this country have been contaminated by COVID, which has caused death and heartbreak, school closures, and colossal changes in how we do life, entertainment, business and church. Currently, we are accosted by an abominable presidential election. It is my position that this election is fixed in a foreboding and formidable fog of fraud. However, I am believing and praying that God’s thunder will deluge this country with a torrent rain of truth and renew and restore our country from being dumped in a desert of distrust and deceit. Be that as it may, the Bible calls believers to give thanks in everything.

The Incarceration of Intellectualism

In our last entry we examined the seduction of sentimentalism. Specifically, how human sentiment that is not scrutinized and subjected to the Spirit of God will seduce a soul to supplant the Lord’s leadership in his or her life. For this week’s entry, I entreat you to consider the thought of the incarceration of intellectualism.

The Seduction of Sentimentalism

How often have you heard someone say one of the following statements?
I know that this is right because it feels right.”
“My gut feeling is guiding me to what is good.”
“This is true because my feelings tell me that it is true.”
“I know what scripture says, but this what I feel.”

Absolute Truth Is Tied To Godliness

Have you ever exercised an exploration for the Truth? In a culture that consistently capitulates to relativistic concepts, truth is considered fluid or incarcerated in ideologies of indifference. Try proclaiming truth on a university campus and you will be caught in the consequential clash of world views. You’re likely to be subject to scorn and derision.

Honoring The Holy One With Your Vote - Part Two

An examination of American history advances and anchors our position that the framers of this nation took stock in the significance of the Scriptures. They founded this nation with faith in the God of the Bible. Many of the founding fathers had Christian backgrounds and submitted statements supported by faith. Consider Patrick Henry. For the most part, many of us remember Patrick Henry’s explosive declaration, “Give me liberty, or give me death!” Many believed that Patrick Henry purposed to be remembered for his 1765 Stamp Act Resolves that placed the colonies in a position to establish their independence.

Honoring The Holy One With Your Vote

Before I begin this week’s blog, I want to thank you and ask God to bless all of you that have made it a weekly commitment to connect and give consideration to what the good Lord has led me to share. This week I will enter in the Presidential 2020 election discourse. Before we embark on the topic of elections, it is plausible that many of us have been advised to avoid the topics of politics and religion with others. And before you decide to close the door that leads to your head and your heart, I ask you to give me some grace and “Let’s Go There” with respect to how saints should vote.

Christ Gives Liberty; Churchianity Locks You In Legalism

For this week’s blog, I like you to consider with me a word or term that you will not find in the dictionary. However, I submit to you that this word is a consistent characteristic of a carnal church. The word Churchianity is a word that I am employing for our edification. It is a word that reflects a church that is rigid in rules and rejects the truth of a real relationship with the Lord made possible by His grace and gift of eternal life through Christ’s death and resurrection.

A Tetrad Of Teachers For Tumultuous Times – Part Three

For today’s blog, we will conclude our discussion on the tetrad of teachers offered to us by God’s Word. These teachers provide great insight as to how to navigate the tumultuous times in which we live. In Part Two of this series, we focused on the instruction offered by Ms. Wisdom. Today, we will conclude by focusing on the remaining three instructors: Ms. Justice, Mr. Judgment and Mr. Equity.

Have you ever considered that the Hebrew Scriptures personifies wisdom as a woman?

TRUST is a MUST!

I open this week’s blog with the lyrics of not only a popular but a powerful piece of Christian music from Lauren Daigle. Daigle is an American contemporary Christian music singer-songwriter from Lafayette, Louisiana. Her song “Trust in You” truly captures a transcending principle that is paramount for a pure, persistent and personal relationship with God.

When you don't move the mountains
I'm needing you to move
When you don't part the waters
I wish I could walk through
When you don't give the answers
As I cry out to you
I will
trust, I will trust, I will trust in you
